Shaun Fickling is a Biomedical Engineer completing his PhD with the NeuroTech Lab at Simon Fraser University.
He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics Engineering (with Honours) and a Master’s in Medicine from the University of Cape Town.
Shaun is passionate about developing medical technologies with particular focus on sports injuries, brain disorders, and mental health. He has co-authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and presented his research at various international conferences. Currently, his research is focused on creating novel neuroimaging technologies to advance the diagnosis and monitoring of concussions. In his spare time, Shaun is an armchair book critic, intrepid adventurer, and the undisputed king of Jenga.
